Flight operations have fully resumed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport following the successful containment of a fire outbreak at the facility’s Old Terminal 1 building.
The Airport Police Command in Lagos confirmed on Tuesday that normalcy had returned to the busy aviation hub after emergency responders extinguished the blaze which occurred on Monday, February 23, 2026.
Police Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Mohammed Adeola, described the operation as a successful containment achieved through coordinated efforts among multiple emergency agencies.
