President Bola Tinubu has resolved the long-running concession dispute over Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) in Lagos, according to Dr Jobson Ewalefoh, Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC). Ewalefoh made the announcement in a statement issued Sunday in Abuja, crediting Tinubu's intervention for restoring clarity to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement. The dispute involved the Federal Government, represented by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, over exclusivity clauses and plans for competing infrastructure in the same airport corridor. The resolution followed coordination between the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Bi-Courtney, and the ICRC, which granted concurrence per PPP guidelines. Ewalefoh described the outcome as a masterstroke that removed restrictive provisions, allowing for new aviation projects in Lagos, including the proposed Lekki Airport. He said the decision reinforces Nigeria's reputation as a reliable investment destination by demonstrating policy stability and respect for contracts. The ICRC boss also praised Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo for his role, noting his expertise and engagement were instrumental. Ewalefoh affirmed the ICRC's commitment to ensuring future PPPs are transparent, value-driven, and aligned with national development goals.
