Lone truck accident kills three in Kano
**Three Lives Lost in Lone Truck Accident Along Zaria-Kano Road**
A devastating accident occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 9, 2026, along the busy Zaria-Kano road in Kano state. Unfortunately, three adults lost their lives in the lone crash involving a commercial truck.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano Sector Command, the incident occurred at approximately 0545 hours along the Zaria-Kano Road, near the Imawa U-Turn. The accident involved a DAF XF truck with registration number FKA603XA, which lost control and collided with a parked trailer on the dual carriageway.
An investigation by the FRSC revealed that the driver's loss of control was the primary cause of the accident. The rescue team was quickly dispatched to the scene, arriving in just five minutes to find three adult males trapped in the wreckage. Despite their efforts, all three victims succumbed to their injuries.
The Sector Commander of the FRSC Kano Sector Command, CC Idris Mohammed Lawal, expressed deep sadness over the tragic loss of lives and urged drivers to exercise caution while driving, particularly during early morning hours. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe speed, ensuring proper vehicle control, and avoiding fatigue.
The sector commander also warned against indiscriminate parking on highways, as it poses serious dangers to other road users. This is a timely reminder, especially in our busy Nigerian cities where roads can be congested and safety can be compromised.
It is essential that drivers, particularly those operating heavy-duty trucks, take heed of these warnings and prioritize road safety. By doing so, we can reduce the number of accidents on our roads and prevent the loss of precious lives. The FRSC will continue to work tirelessly to ensure road safety in Kano state and beyond.
