The Governor of Lagos State and Visitor to Lagos State University, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed the Alara of Ilara, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, as the sixth Chancellor of the institution. The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr Emmanuel Fanu. Ogunsanwo succeeds Gbolahan Elias, who served as the fifth Chancellor of the university. According to the statement, the appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of the Lagos State University Law 2004 (as amended), which empowers the Visitor to appoint the Chancellor of the university.
