However, the report did not shy away from pointing out areas where Lagos needs improvement. The presence of touts and unauthorized individuals around key business and logistics hubs remains a persistent problem, creating security concerns and disrupting commercial activity. Additionally, the state's investor aftercare systems and digital connectivity outside urban centers require urgent attention.
The report emphasizes the importance of state-level reforms in improving Nigeria's business environment, particularly with the country's large number of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. With over 39 million businesses spread across the country, how each state performs on business-enabling conditions has never been more critical.
