**Ramadan Food Relief Hits Kogi East: KPSF Distributes N300m to Muslims**
As the holy month of Ramadan sets in, the Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF) has taken a significant step to alleviate the economic burden on Muslims in Kogi East Senatorial District. The forum has flagged off the distribution of Ramadan food items worth N300 million to the Muslim community, beginning with Dekina Local Government Area.
This gesture, which has been described as a timely intervention, reflects the forum's commitment to supporting the grassroots and fostering community development. Each of the 12 wards in Dekina Local Government Area has received 50 bags of rice as part of the first phase of the distribution exercise. This move is expected to bring relief to many families struggling to make ends meet during the fasting period.
According to Hon. Philip Sani, Coordinator of the forum, the initiative is designed to support the Muslim Ummah and ensure that relief materials reach those who need them most. He emphasized that the forum's priority remains political mobilization and humanitarian outreach, and that this gesture is not intended to conflict with the state government.
The event, which held at the country home of the forum's Chairman and former Governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada, was attended by party faithful, community leaders, and beneficiaries from the 12 wards. One of the beneficiaries, Haruna Mohammed, expressed gratitude to the organizers, describing the intervention as a welcome relief in these trying economic times.
The distribution exercise is a significant milestone in the history of KPSF, underscoring the forum's commitment to community development and humanitarian outreach. With the successful flag-off in Dekina, the stage is set for the distribution of food items to other Local Government Areas in Kogi East Senatorial District.
In a related development, Senator Sunday Karimi has been commended for his instrumental role in supporting the programme. The Senator, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District, has consistently demonstrated unalloyed support for President Ahmed Tinubu's re-election and the KPSF's humanitarian initiatives.
Overall, the KPSF's Ramadan food relief initiative is a beacon of hope for the Muslim community in Kogi East Senatorial District, and a testament to the forum's commitment to community development and humanitarian outreach.
