The Katsina State Government has conducted a one-day training workshop for media aides and communication officers to improve their skills in social media management and the application of Artificial Intelligence in strategic communication. Organised by the Directorate of Media and Communication at Government House, Katsina, the event targeted enhancing professionalism among media personnel in line with global digital trends. The workshop, themed 'Harnessing Social Media and AI for Effective Policy Implementation and Strategic Communication,' took place on Saturday with Optimal Image Media Limited serving as consultant.
Maiwada Dammallam, Director-General of Media, stated the training was prompted by the growing influence of digital platforms in public communication. He emphasized that AI had become a critical tool in modern information dissemination. "We live in a world driven by communication, and Artificial Intelligence has become an indispensable global tool in strategic communication," Dammallam said. He urged participants to pay close attention, adding that competence in these tools was essential for effective performance.
Dammallam attributed the initiative to the administration of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, describing the governor's approach to communication as forward-looking. "It is the recognition of the importance of social media and the global trend in adopting artificial intelligence that prompted this initiative under the visionary leadership of Governor Radda," he said.
Shuaibu Mungadi, Chairman of Optimal Image Media Limited, affirmed that social media and AI were vital in contemporary governance. He noted the training was designed to equip participants with practical skills for better policy communication. "You and I know that you are all engaged here to improve the image of the governor and the government. In doing that, you must properly inform and educate the public with skills, fairness and responsibility," Mungadi said. He stressed that effective public communication depended on mastery of modern digital tools.
