JUST IN: Wike’s ally emerge Bayelsa PDP chairman Chief George Turnah has been elected Bayelsa PDP Chairman to head its 20 member state executive committee following its state Congress which held weekend in Yenagoa, the state capital The election was witnessed by administrative Secretary, INEC Bayelsa office and PDP national officials. The event attracted party delegates from the eight local government areas of the state. Voting of elected party officials into the state executive committee was done through consensus method. The event was preceded by the official inauguration of a new secretariat of the party in the state capital. In an address, Mr George Turnah, on behalf of the state working committee, promised a new dawn for the party, adding that the elected party officials will hit the ground running. He said the party was ready to record a resounding victory at the 2027 general elections in the state because the PDP is synonymous with Bayelsa state. He noted, “I assure you it is a new dawn for PDP in Bayelsa State. PDP is Bayelsa and Bayelsa is PDP. Don’t be deceived with what seems to look like or what seems to suggest like PDP is now an opposition party in Bayelsa. “That is theoretical.What is practical is that PDP is the majority party in Bayelsa State and at the right time our people of Bayelsa State will reciprocate as we have always done in appreciation to this party that have given us everything we would have ever asked for in this project Nigeria. We are not ungrateful people.We will continue to stand by this party. Despite human machinations PDP in Bayelsa, God has always intervened.The God that intervened on behalf of PDP in Bayelsa State in 2019 is still the same God today.” Turnah assured that God that intervened in the affairs of the party in 2019 will continue to intervene in the party’s affairs, urging members to remain committed to the goals of victory at the next polls. The members of PDP executive committee headed by Chief George Turnah are PDP Deputy Chairman Tony Gabriel, Secretary Ato Alfreder Ebibofayei, Assistant Secretary Mietokikumo Opuofoni,Treasurer Biobelemoye Igoninwari, Assistant Treasurer Abrakasa Ebiegberi, Financial Secretary Erempagamo Eke-Spiff, Assistant Financial Secretary Amgbare Fulpower, Organizing Secretary Godspower Toruyokotie, Assistant Organizing Secretary Ogbeintari Okere.
