Ramadan Feeding Centres Stepping Up: Governor Aliyu's Visit Reveals Improvement
In what appears to be a show of commitment to the welfare of citizens, Governor Ahmed Aliyu recently paid a visit to several Ramadan Feeding Centres across the metropolis. The visit aimed at assessing the quality and quantity of food being served at these centres. What he found has sent a positive signal to both the administration and the public.
Governor Aliyu's visit to centres in Clapperton road, Lodge road, Gidan Dallatu, Specialist Hospital, and Madunka area among others, was an opportunity to gauge the progress made in this year's Ramadan Feeding Programme. According to sources, the governor expressed satisfaction with what he saw, noting significant improvements compared to last year's offerings at some of the centres.
The state government's efforts to upgrade the feeding centres have not gone unnoticed. From 155 to 170 centres, the increase will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the number of people benefiting from the programme. Furthermore, the allocation of one billion naira for this year's Ramadan Feeding Programme is expected to cover the daily demand of 34,000 plates across the metropolis.
During his visit, Governor Aliyu also called on the feeding centre committees to continue working diligently to achieve the programme's objectives. He emphasized the need for the committees to maintain a high level of commitment, as the programme aims to provide a convenient place for the needy to break their fast.
To further boost the programme, the governor appealed to individuals who can afford it to establish feeding centres in their communities. This initiative will enable more people to benefit from the programme, especially in areas where the centres are not yet available.
Governor Aliyu's visit to the Ramadan Feeding Centres has sent a reassuring message to the people of the state. It shows that the administration is committed to delivering on its promises, especially in areas that directly impact the welfare of citizens. With the programme's progress, it is clear that this year's Ramadan will be a more enjoyable and stress-free experience for many.
