Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has launched the distribution of 2026 Hajj kits for intending pilgrims at the Kauran Gwandu Hajj Camp in Birnin Kebbi. Each pilgrim will receive two 23 kg bags, totaling 46 kg, along with two sets of uniforms for men and two Hijabs for women. The governor praised the Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Agency, chaired by Alhaji Faruku Musa-Enabo, for its transformation and past national awards. Idris commended Kebbi pilgrims for their disciplined conduct in Saudi Arabia during the previous Hajj and urged the 2026 pilgrims to pray for President Bola Tinubu and other national leaders.

Sen. Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, thanked the Kebbi State government and the welfare agency for their efforts. Musa-Enabo confirmed that Kebbi has the highest number of intending pilgrims in Nigeria and will be among the honoured states after the 2026 Hajj. He disclosed that 12 flights will operate directly from Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport to Madina. Pilgrims will also stay in accommodations less than 300 metres from the Haram in Makkah.

Kebbi State's early launch of 2026 Hajj kits sets a logistical pace others may struggle to match. With 12 direct flights and housing under 300 metres from the Haram, Alhaji Faruku Musa-Enabo's agency is delivering tangible advantages for pilgrims. This level of preparation suggests Kebbi's pilgrims will face fewer hurdles than most. For Nigerian Muslims, it raises the bar on what state-supported Hajj welfare can look like.
