Gas supply constraints push down power supply to 4,300MW

The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has attributed the current shortfall in power supply nationwide to gas supply limitations and generation constraints.
According to NISO, the twin constraints resulted in power supply falling to 4,300MW.
In a statement on Friday by the Systems Operator management, said thermal generating plants have not been performing optimally.
“We hereby notify the general public and all market participants that the current average available generation of approximately 4,300MW is primarily due to inadequate gas supply to thermal generating stations.
