Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen is on the road to recovery after undergoing successful surgery on a fractured right forearm. The Nigerian striker sustained the injury during the Turkish giants' UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg defeat to Liverpool FC at Anfield. Osimhen collided mid-air with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté while competing for an aerial challenge, resulting in a heavily strapped forearm that forced him to withdraw from the match as a precaution.
The surgery was performed at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital by club doctor Yener İnce, and according to Galatasaray, the procedure was completed without complications. The club has expressed its wishes for a speedy recovery to Osimhen, hoping for his return to the field at the earliest.
Osimhen had been in exceptional form before the injury, registering 19 goals in 24 league appearances and underlining his importance to Galatasaray's ambitions on both domestic and European fronts.
Osimhen's successful surgery is a massive boost for Galatasaray, who will be counting on his return to bolster their title chances in the Turkish Super Lig. The Nigerian striker's exceptional form has been a key factor in the team's success this season, and his absence will be deeply felt. However, with a recovery period of around six weeks, Osimhen could still make a significant impact in the remaining matches of the season.
