**Friday Sermon: Unlocking the Secrets of Lailatul-Qadr, Tahajjud, and Zakatul Fitr** In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, for guiding us towards the path of righteousness. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. May Allah send abundant peace and blessings upon him. Dear brothers and sisters in Nigeria, let us focus on three significant aspects of our faith that bring us closer to Allah during the holy month of Ramadan: Lailatul-Qadr, Tahajjud, and Zakatul Fitr. Lailatul-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power or Decree, is a night of immense blessings, mercy, divine decree, and forgiveness. According to the noble Qur'an, it is a time when the angels descend with peace until dawn, occurring in the last ten nights of Ramadan. While many of us have been led to believe that the 27th night of Ramadan is the most likely candidate for Lailatul-Qadr, our esteemed scholars have different opinions on this matter. One such scholar is Imam al-Shafi'i, who believed that the strongest candidate for Lailatul-Qadr was actually the 21st night of Ramadan. His reasoning is based on the Hadith that advises us to seek Lailatul-Qadr on the ninth, seventh, and fifth nights of the last ten. When he counted backwards from the end of Ramadan, the ninth remaining night lands on the 21st. This insight may come as a surprise to many of us, but it is essential to remember that seeking Lailatul-Qadr is not limited to one specific night. We should continue to seek it with sincerity and devotion throughout the last ten nights of Ramadan. Another crucial aspect of our faith is Tahajjud, the night prayer that is performed after the midnight prayer. It is a means of seeking closeness to Allah and seeking guidance and blessings. By performing Tahajjud, we can experience a deeper sense of spiritual connection and rejuvenation. Lastly, Zakatul Fitr, also known as Sadaqatul Fitr, is a charitable act that we perform at the end of Ramadan. It is a means of purifying our souls and expressing gratitude for the blessings we have received. By giving Zakatul Fitr, we show our appreciation for the opportunity to fast and worship Allah during Ramadan. In conclusion, let us strive to understand and appreciate the significance of Lailatul-Qadr, Tahajjud, and Zakatul Fitr during the holy month of Ramadan. By doing so, we can deepen our faith, purify our souls, and draw closer to Allah. May Allah guide us and bless us with His mercy
