**Collation of Results Begins in FCT Area Council Elections** In a significant development, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started collating results in the just-concluded FCT Area Council Elections at the Kubwa Registration Area Centre. At the LEA Primary School, Kubwa II, Collation Officers from INEC gathered at 6:15 pm to begin the manual and electronic collation of results. To ensure accuracy, the commission employed a hybrid method, which involves comparing the results uploaded to the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV) from polling units with the manual forms, EC8A. This exercise enables the electoral officers to verify that the results tallied. Our correspondent reported that the officers used both manual and electronic devices to ensure the accuracy of the results. The laptops used for this purpose were provided by the Operations team, while the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) was used to upload results from polling units. Mrs. Okoye Adeiza, a Supervisor, explained that both teams worked together to confirm and match the results. The Area Council election was held across six Area Councils in the FCT, with 62 wards participating in the polls to elect Chairmen and Councillors. Despite some delays in some parts of Kubwa Ward, voters turned out in large numbers in most areas. The results collation process is a crucial step towards determining the winners in the elections, and the INEC is working diligently to ensure a smooth and transparent outcome.
