**FCT Elections: Atiku and Obi's ADC Faces Embarrassing Defeat**
As the dust settles on the ongoing Area Council Elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), it's becoming clear that some political heavyweights are facing a rude awakening. Specifically, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by former Vice Presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi is not faring well in the polls.
In a scathing post on a social media platform, Lere Olayinka, the spokesperson for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, took a swipe at the ADC chieftains, implying that they are unlikely to win any seats in the council elections. Olayinka's statement, laced with a touch of sarcasm, suggested that the ADC is struggling to make an impact in the FCT.
The APC candidate and incumbent Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Maikalangu, is one of the big winners in the elections so far. At his polling unit, he secured a landslide victory, polling 229 votes against his closest rival, Dr. Moses Paul of the ADC, who managed a paltry 15 votes. Maikalangu was effusive in his praise for the voting process, describing it as efficient and smooth.
As the election results continue to trickle in, it's becoming clear that the ADC is facing a significant setback in the FCT. The party's poor showing at the polls has left many wondering whether it has what it takes to make a meaningful impact in the country's politics. Only time will tell if the ADC can regroup and mount a stronger challenge in future elections.
In the meantime, the APC seems to be gaining momentum in the FCT, with its candidates performing well in various polling units. As the elections draw to a close, it remains to be seen whether the APC will emerge victorious in the council elections. One thing is certain, however: the ADC's prospects are looking bleak.
