FCT: Cleric harps on physical excercise as Anglican church members walk, jog
**FCT Residents Encouraged to Adopt Healthy Lifestyle through Regular Exercise**
In Abuja, the nation's capital, residents were treated to a fun-filled exercise session as members of the Church of the Pentecost FHA, Lugbe, gathered for a walk and jog event. The activity, which was part of a health symposium, aimed to promote healthy living among participants.
The Anglican Bishop of Ida Diocese, Right Reverend Joseph Musa, was in attendance and used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of regular physical exercise. He noted that exercising regularly can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases and improve overall well-being. According to Bishop Musa, this aligns with biblical teachings, which emphasize the value of physical exercise.
A health worker, Mrs. Stella Ozugha, also spoke at the event, highlighting the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle and the importance of adopting moderate eating habits. She provided a practical demonstration on how to resuscitate an unresponsive patient, emphasizing the need for prompt action in emergency situations.
The chairperson of the 2026 Mothering Sunday Committee, Dame Nneka Godbless, revealed that physical exercise is just one of the many activities lined up for the church's Mothering Sunday celebration, which is scheduled to take place on March 15, 2026. This event is also a precursor to International Women's Day.
In her address, Loveth Bako, President of the Women's wing of the Church of Pentecost, reminded participants that a healthy body is a temple of God and should be treated with discipline and respect. She encouraged parishioners to combine physical exercise with spiritual growth, using their bodies as vessels for spiritual expression.
This event serves as a reminder to Nigerians, particularly in FCT, of the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through regular physical exercise and good eating habits. As we strive for a better Nigeria, prioritizing our health and well-being can have a significant impact on our overall quality of life.
