The New Enugu Smart City will be situated on a 10,000-acre land along Abakaliki Road, within Enugu metropolis. The land is drawn from five local government areas. The state government has completed an eight-lane expressway into the new city, and development on the first phase has commenced. The city will feature accessible roads, portable water, constant electricity supply, free Wi-Fi, surveillance cameras, security control rooms, and a dedicated security service.
The Enugu Chamber of Commerce has commended Governor Mbah for envisioning and developing a new, livable home in the South-east and Nigeria. The theme of this year's Enugu International Trade Fair is "Empowering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for Global Competitiveness".
