The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested eight individuals over the abduction of two residents from Rukubi Community in Doma Local Government Area. Commissioner of Police Shetima Mohammed disclosed this at a press briefing on Thursday in Lafia, stating the incident occurred Tuesday night when armed men stormed the homes of Habib Usman and Peter Ajidiku. Victims Ayele Jonathan and Rose Samuel were taken to an unknown location before security forces responded to the distress call.

Mohammed said the suspects were identified as Adamu Alfa (35), Muhammed Alfa (25), Shuaibu Alfa (33), Usman Alfa (25), Ali Alfa (30), Isa Alfa (15), Adamu Alfa (25), and Ja'afaru Alfa (38), all from Rugan Alhaji Alfa in Rukubi Village. Two AK-47 rifles, four Bajaj motorcycles, and two expended AK-47 ammunition shells were recovered. Muhammed Alfa sustained fatal injuries during the operation and died while receiving treatment.

The police commissioner credited the swift response to collaboration with military and community forces, adding that security had been reinforced in Rukubi and surrounding areas to prevent further attacks.
