**DSS Busts Notorious ESN Commander and IPOB Member in Enugu**
In a significant breakthrough, the Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended Sabastine Odo Odam, a suspected commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), and Ejike Daniel, a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in Enugu state. The joint operation, which took place in Eha-Amufu and Umuhu communities in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, was the culmination of months of intelligence gathering by security operatives.
According to sources, the suspects were involved in a string of violent attacks on police formations in the area between 2024 and 2026, resulting in multiple fatalities and the theft of weapons from security facilities. The attacks included a particularly devastating incident in February 2026, where 11 labourers lost their lives.
The DSS operation has been hailed as a major success in the fight against insecurity in the South-East and other parts of the country. Residents of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area have welcomed the development, expressing hope that the arrests will help restore peace to communities that have experienced repeated attacks.
The suspects are currently in DSS custody and are expected to be arraigned in court on conclusion of investigations. The arrests are seen as a major blow to the activities of ESN and IPOB, which have been linked to several violent incidents in the region.
The DSS has been working tirelessly to combat insecurity in the South-East, and this operation is a testament to their commitment to restoring peace and stability to the region. The people of Nigeria can rest assured that the security agencies are doing everything in their power to protect them from harm.
