The recent arrests in Delta State are a step in the right direction, but it's clear that the police are still playing catch-up. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Aina Adeshina, needs to take a harder stance against the culture of impunity that allows these crimes to happen. The victims of these heinous acts deserve justice, and it's up to the authorities to ensure that those responsible are held accountable. The fact that these acts were not representative of any legitimate cultural practice of the Ozoro community is a stark reminder that we must not confuse tradition with barbarism.
