**"Delta Police Strike Big: Intercepts Truckload of Tramadol, Arrests Armed Robber"**
In a major breakthrough, the Delta State Police Command has dealt a crushing blow to drug traffickers and armed robbers in the state. In the past two weeks, the Command's Eagle Net Special Squad and CP Special Assignment Team have intercepted a large consignment of illicit drugs and arrested a suspected armed robber linked to multiple attacks in Warri.
On February 13, operatives of the Eagle Net Special Squad stopped a white J5 bus along the Asaba-Agbor expressway during a routine stop-and-search operation. Hidden beneath company machines were 1,520 packets of Tramadol and Swinol tablets, a massive haul of narcotics primed for distribution in the state. The driver and motor boy were arrested on the spot. Further investigation led to the arrest of the alleged owner of the consignment, a man from Akwa Ibom State.
But that was not the only significant breakthrough. On February 22, operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team arrested Collins Darlington, a 23-year-old suspect linked to a string of robberies in Warri metropolis. During interrogation, Darlington led officers to a bush in the Jedo area of Warri, where a locally made firearm was recovered. He confessed to membership of the Aye Confraternity and admitted involvement in multiple door-to-door robbery operations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, has reaffirmed the Command's commitment to intelligence-driven policing and the protection of lives and property. She has called on residents to continue providing timely and credible information as the Command intensifies its crackdown on criminal elements.
The Delta State Police Command's efforts are a welcome development for residents of the state. By tackling drug trafficking and armed robbery head-on, the Command is sending a strong message to criminals that their activities will not be tolerated. As the Command continues to intensify its efforts, residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
