Elders from Aniocha-Oshimili, a prominent constituency in the state, have sounded the alarm over the alarming rate of drug abuse among youths. This growing menace poses a significant risk to public safety, family cohesion, and the emergence of responsible leaders in the state and the country at large. In a recent statement, the Aniocha-Oshimili Elders' Association urged government authorities and stakeholders to take immediate and decisive action to curb the rising tide of drug abuse. The elders cited the rapid spread of this problem across virtually every community in the constituency, where it has become a pervasive social challenge affecting villages and towns. If left unchecked, this development could have far-reaching consequences, including the manipulation of unemployed and drug-dependent youths by unscrupulous actors to foment violence and social unrest.
