Customs Canvasses Stakeholders’ Support For NSW Implementation
**Customs Service Seeks Support for National Single Window Implementation**
As Nigeria prepares to launch the National Single Window (NSW) project, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has underlined the importance of collaboration from stakeholders in achieving a successful implementation. The NSW project aims to modernize Nigeria's trade processes and enhance its position in global trade.
Speaking in Abuja, the Comptroller-General of Customs emphasized the role of critical stakeholders in the successful rollout of the initiative. He commended the support of stakeholders who have contributed to the NCS's progress in modernization so far.
President Muhammadu Buhari has tasked the NCS with taking bold steps to launch the NSW project, which seeks to make Nigeria a significant player in global trade. The Customs Service recognizes the airline and shipping line operators as vital partners in achieving a seamless transition to the new system.
To ease the migration process, the Customs Service has put in place adequate support structures. A help desk with well-trained personnel will be available to address any operational challenges that may arise during the rollout.
Earlier, the Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of ICT and Modernisation, DCG Oluyomi Adebakin, described the NSW as a major milestone in the NCS's ongoing modernization drive. She noted that the Service has been actively engaged in preparatory work for months to ensure that the framework being developed reflects operational realities and supports seamless implementation.
The NSW project aligns with the Customs Service's mandate of trade facilitation, revenue generation, and inter-agency coordination. The project's success will depend on the support of stakeholders, including airline and shipping line operators, who play a crucial role in Nigeria's trade processes.
The NCS is working tirelessly to ensure a smooth implementation of the NSW project. With the support of stakeholders, Nigeria can position itself as a major player in global trade and boost its economic growth.
