The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, recently hosted an Eid-el-Fitr luncheon for troops of Sector 1, Operation Fansan Yamma, in Kaduna State. The event took place on Saturday at Sub-Sector 5 Forward Operating Base, DICON Agundu in Kachia Local Government Area.
The luncheon aimed to boost the morale of frontline personnel and strengthen unity among troops. Lt.-Gen. Shaibu was represented by the Commander, Corps of Signals, Maj.-Gen. M.T. Abdullahi. Shaibu congratulated Muslim personnel and their families on completing Ramadan, noting that the values of sacrifice, discipline, and devotion align with military values.
Shaibu highlighted the shared experience of sacrifice between Muslim and Christian personnel during the Ramadan fast and Christian Lenten season. He stressed that this shared experience had strengthened unity within the Nigerian Army. The Army chief also emphasized the importance of national security as a collective responsibility, commending the synergy between the Nigerian Army, other security agencies, and law-abiding citizens.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was praised for his strategic leadership and support to the Armed Forces. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Magaji Danjuma, and heads of military formations.
