Portable and Carter Efe Engage in Heated Confrontation Ahead of Celebrity Boxing Match
A tense face-off between singer Portable and comedian Carter Efe nearly turned violent in Ikeja on Tuesday, ahead of their highly anticipated celebrity boxing match scheduled for May 1. The two social media stars exchanged heated words and made aggressive gestures, prompting security personnel to step in and prevent the situation from escalating. Portable, known for his energetic personality, displayed spiritual charms, signaling confidence in his chances of victory. Carter Efe, on the other hand, appeared dressed in white garments, carrying a Bible and anointing oil, symbolising his own form of spiritual preparation.
Portable, who has previously participated in exhibition bouts against actors Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, attempted to initiate a physical confrontation on the spot before security officials intervened. Carter Efe responded with equal intensity, refusing to be intimidated and at one point pushing against security personnel while shouting that he wanted to confront Portable immediately. The event, tagged "Chaos in the Ring 4," is being promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions in collaboration with AK Promotions, owned by former world champion Amir Khan.
The celebrity boxing match is expected to draw widespread attention, with organisers predicting a high-energy showdown when both entertainers finally meet in the ring on May 1. The event will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel and is sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control.
Carter Efe's determination to confront Portable immediately despite the presence of security personnel is a clear indication of his confidence in his abilities. The fact that he pushed against security personnel while shouting that he wanted to confront Portable raises questions about his ability to control his emotions in the heat of the moment. This could be a crucial factor in the outcome of the match.
