Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has addressed negative comments and opinions about her relationship with her colleague, Odobodobo Motola. Kemi Filani reported a day back that the Yoruba actress had shared loved-up photos of herself and the actor in matching traditional outfits, revealing that their friendship was built on trust, laughter, respect, and a deep understanding shared only by them. She said that, despite public opinion, they chose to listen to their hearts. Her loved-up photos didn’t sit well with some of her fans and followers, who took to her comment section to criticise the union. Addressing them, Laide stated that they should allow love to lead. She questioned what if they are wrong and she is right in her choice. “Some commentators on this app sha! haaa! Can we let love lead? What if you are wrong and I’m right? Hen ? What if? THANK YOU SO MUCH @amooke_alasoke for making me love this Blue exceptionally”. During last year’s Christmas celebration, Laide shared photos of herself and Motolani wearing matching pyjamas, saying that love conquers all. Motolani also shared photos of them, saying that he thought it was going to be a lonely Christmas, but she showed up. In 2023, Laide unveiled a man on her Instagram page as she talked about love, describing it as a beautiful thing as she called on her fans and lover to join them on December 2nd at Amore Garden, Lekki. In another post, she advised her fans to have enough courage to give love another shot. Further fueling relationship speculation, the movie star had replied to a troll who queried her over her new relationship, after she defended her new man against false accusations. Taking to her comment section, a troll questioned if the actress wouldn’t leave her new man because of money as she did with her second husband. Surprisingly, Laide replied him with insults as she noted how she had her own money. Setting the record straight on their relationship, Bakare made it known that she was still husbandless. She stated that the man she made videos with is nothing but her colleague. Laide Bakare has been married twice. Her first marriage was with American-based business tycoon, Olumide Okufulure, while her second marriage was with Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo. Her first marriage to Olumide Okunfulure produced a daughter, Simi. Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last long and Laide Bakare got remarried to Mutairu in 2012 in a secret marriage and the union produced two sons.
