Businessman empowers 220 widows in Ekiti An Abuja-based businessman, Sunday Oluwatosin Ajayi, has empowered 220 widows across Aiyekire/Gboyin area of Ekiti State with cash grants to support their small-scale businesses. The empowerment programme, which cut across 11 wards in the constituency, saw 20 widows selected from each ward, with each beneficiary receiving N20,000 as business support. Speaking during the presentation, Ajayi, an alumnus of Ekiti State University and indigene of Imesi-Ekiti Ward 5, said the intervention was aimed at cushioning the harsh effects of economic hardship on vulnerable residents and complementing the welfare drive of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
