Bruce Lee (born Lee Jun-fan on November 27, 1940, and died July 20, 1973) was a Hong Kong-American martial artist, actor, director, and philosopher. He created Jeet Kune Do, a martial arts philosophy that combines techniques from Wing Chun, boxing, fencing, and other styles with ideas from Zen Buddhism and Taoism. Lee is often seen as the most influential martial artist in film history and the first Chinese film star with worldwide fame. His five major movies, The Big Boss (1971), Fist of Fury (1972), The Way of the Dragon (1972), Enter the Dragon (1973), and Game of Death (1978), helped make Hong Kong martial arts films popular around the world, started the kung fu craze of the 1970s, and broke down Asian stereotypes in Western media.
