Bonnie Lee Bakley (June 7, 1956 – May 4, 2001) was an American woman best known as the second wife of actor Robert Blake, her tenth husband. Her life was complicated, involving a strong interest in celebrities, scams, many marriages, and legal issues. She was shot and killed while sitting in Robert Blake’s parked car outside Vitello’s restaurant in Studio City, California, on May 4, 2001. Blake was charged with her murder in 2002 but was found not guilty in a criminal trial in March 2005. After Bakley’s family filed a civil wrongful-death lawsuit, Blake was found responsible in November 2005 and ordered to pay $30 million, which was later reduced to $15 million on appeal.
