**Conflict in the Gulf: Explosions Rock Dubai, Doha, and Kuwait as Iran's Retaliation Continues**
For the third consecutive day, the Gulf region is witnessing a surge in explosions and attacks as Iran's retaliatory strikes against the United States and their allies in the region intensify. The escalating conflict has raised fears of a prolonged conflict that may disrupt trade and aviation activities in key regional hubs.
In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), loud explosions were heard in Dubai, while Qatari residents reported hearing loud bangs in Doha. Kuwait also experienced a similar situation on Monday morning, with smoke seen rising from the vicinity of the US embassy. The country's air defences intercepted most of the drones near residential areas, preventing a wider impact.
Iran's retaliation comes in response to the ongoing attacks by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets. The situation has resulted in significant human losses, with at least 201 people killed and 747 wounded in Iran, while nine have been killed and 121 wounded in Israel. In Kuwait, one person has lost their life, while three have died in the UAE and 16 have been injured in Qatar.
The conflict has also raised concerns about the safety of people living in the region. Bahrain's Ministry of Interior has activated air raid alerts, advising residents to seek shelter and to avoid using the Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge. Meanwhile, Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, have issued a joint statement condemning Iranian attacks and affirming their right to self-defence.
However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has maintained that Tehran is not seeking confrontation with its Gulf neighbours. He stressed that Iran's actions are a response to the American aggression against them, adding that they are "attacking American targets, not our brothers in the Persian Gulf." The statement highlights the complexity of the conflict, which may have far-reaching implications for regional stability and security.
As the situation continues to unfold, residents in the Gulf region are advised to stay informed and follow local authorities' instructions to ensure their safety. The international community is also watching the situation closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
