Appointing members as supervisors and special advisers has brought smiles to the faces of the Arewa community in Lagos. The appointments, made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and party leadership, have been widely welcomed by the community.

According to Alhaji Jida Sayid, Vice-Chairman of the Arewa Community in Lagos, the organisation is grateful to the APC leadership, particularly Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, for the appointments. Sayid noted that the appointments demonstrate the party's commitment to inclusiveness and recognition.

The Arewa community has benefited from the appointments in several local councils, including Agege, Ojo, Oriade, Amuwo Odofin, Apapa Iganmu, Ajeromi, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Ikoyi-Obalende, and Iru/Victoria Island Local Council Development Areas.

Sayid expressed his appreciation for Pastor Ojelabi's re-election as State Chairman and the appointments of several community members to supervisory and special adviser positions. He also condemned a recent protest at the APC Secretariat, describing it as a mischievous act that does not represent the views of the Arewa community.

The beneficiaries of the appointments include Haija Hamdiya Mohammed, Lawan Mohammed, Salisu Gezawa, Mohammed Zubairu, and Rakiya Jibril. Sayid reaffirmed that the Arewa community remains resolute and committed to the APC.

The appointment of Arewa community members as supervisors and special advisers in Lagos is a significant move towards inclusivity and recognition within the APC. While the community has welcomed the appointments, questions remain about the criteria used for selection and whether these appointments are a genuine effort to address the concerns of marginalized groups. The recent protest at the APC Secretariat highlights the need for greater transparency and accountability within the party. As the APC leadership continues to implement its policies, it must ensure that the interests of all its members are represented and valued. The appointments of Haija Hamdiya Mohammed and Lawan Mohammed, among others, are a positive step towards addressing the concerns of the Arewa community, but more needs to be done to ensure that the community's voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
