The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a revamped National Working Committee (NWC) following its national convention in Abuja. The convention drew over 8,453 delegates from across the country and the Federal Capital Territory.
Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has taken the reins as the party's new national chairman. He is joined by Hon. Abubakar Dalori as Deputy National Chairman (North) and Dr Ben Nwoye as Deputy National Chairman (South). The party has also elected a new 24-member NWC, striking a balance between continuity and fresh leadership.
The new NWC includes several notable figures: National Secretary Sen. Surajudeen Basiru, Deputy National Secretary Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, and National Vice-Chairman (North-Central) Mu'azu Rijau, among others.
The APC's shake-up of its National Working Committee is a significant move, one that reflects the party's desire to refresh its leadership ahead of future electoral cycles. With Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda at the helm, the party is sending a clear signal that it is committed to change and renewal. However, the question remains whether this new leadership will be able to drive meaningful reforms and deliver on the party's promises to Nigerians. The APC's fate will be closely tied to the performance of its new national chairman and the party's ability to deliver on its electoral pledges.
