Bjelonic described the four-legged wheeled robot, which resembles a "dog on roller skates," in a previous interview with _TechCrunch_. Rivr had been working on a pilot program with Veho, a package delivery company, in Austin. Last year, Bjelonic expressed hopes to learn from the partnership and eventually scale to 100 bots by 2026. However, it is unclear if the company was able to reach that milestone. _TechCrunch_ has reached out to Rivr for comment on the current status of the pilot program and the company's future plans. Prior to the pilot program, Rivr had already caught the attention of Amazon. The Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Bezos Expeditions invested in Rivr as part of a $22.2 million seed round that closed in 2024, according to _Pitchbook_. The startup had raised a total of $25 million and was last valued at $100 million.
