The Oyo State Government has handed over a specially equipped vehicle to the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) to support operations at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan. The presentation took place on Friday, according to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju. The vehicle, described as fully kitted with special communication aids, is intended to improve coordination with the airport's instrument landing system and other critical aviation infrastructure. Bimbo Adekanmbi, Chairman of the Airport Upgrade Committee, stated that the donation reflects the government's commitment to upgrading the airport. He confirmed that local flights are currently operating while construction of the international terminal continues. The state aims to restore international operations once the terminal is completed. NAMA Manager Gbenga Famosipe, represented by Olumide Odutayo, acknowledged the donation and said it would enhance operational safety at the airport.
