Adams Scores 7th LaLiga Goal Of The Season As Sevilla Draw 1-1 With Rayo Vallecano
**Adekunle Adams Scores His 7th LaLiga Goal As Sevilla Shares Points with Rayo Vallecano**
Nigerian football fans were thrilled to see their countryman, Adekunle Adams, score his 7th goal in the Spanish LaLiga this season, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure a win for Sevilla against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Adams, who has been in impressive form for the Seville-based club, scored the opening goal for Sevilla in the 10th minute of the match. His goal came after a quick counter-attack, where he received a perfectly weighted cross from former Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, and tapped it home.
However, Adams had several opportunities to score again, including a chance created by Alexis Sanchez, but he was unable to capitalize on those opportunities.
Rayo Vallecano, though, was not ready to concede defeat easily. They equalized just five minutes into the second half, thanks to a well-placed free kick from 23-year-old Spanish winger, Fran Perez. Perez's goal came after a foul was committed by Azpilicueta on the edge of the Sevilla box.
The draw leaves Sevilla in 13th position on the league table with 31 points, and it's clear that there's still much work to be done for the team to achieve their goals.
It was heartening to see Chidera Ejuke, another Nigerian player, introduced into the game in the 68th minute, but unfortunately, he couldn't make a significant impact on the outcome of the match.
Despite the disappointing result, Adams' goal-scoring form will surely give Nigerian football fans something to cheer about, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for him and his team.
