**80 Mighty Pens Celebrate Simon Shango's Life and Legacy**
Last Saturday, the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua International Conference Centre in Abuja was abuzz with activities as the city celebrated a living legend, Chief Simon Shango, on his 80th birthday and the public presentation of his autobiography, 'Thought of a Servant of Humanity'. The event, hosted by none other than Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was a who's who of Nigeria's crème de la crème, including top politicians, business moguls, captains of industry, traditional rulers, and media personalities.
As I made my way into the venue, I noticed a sea of luxury vehicles parked outside, a testament to the high esteem in which the celebrant is held. The hall was already filled to capacity with dignitaries, including Senator Akume, Dr. Haroun Adamu, who reviewed the book, Professor Iyorwuese Hagher, and former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom.
The highlight of the event was the public presentation of the autobiography, which was followed by a thrilling performance by the renowned musician, Dr. Bongos Ikwue. As I made my way through the crowd to congratulate the celebrant, I was struck by his boundless energy and enthusiasm, despite his advanced age. Chief Shango, affectionately known as Shangoji, was overjoyed to see me, and we exchanged warm words and a hearty handshake.
This celebration is a testament to Chief Shango's enduring legacy in the Nigerian media space. As a journalist and a public servant, he has left an indelible mark on the nation's history. His autobiography, 'Thought of a Servant of Humanity', is a treasure trove of experiences, insights, and wisdom that will inspire generations to come.
As Nigerians, we are fortunate to have individuals like Chief Simon Shango, who have dedicated their lives to serving humanity. His 80th birthday and the public presentation of his autobiography are a time for us to reflect on his contributions and celebrate his life and legacy.
